Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Tswelelang (“we”) handles personal information collected through the Tswelelang Marketer website (marketeers.tswelelang.com) under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Who we are
Tswelelang – Financial and Legal Advisers. Enquiries: advisers@tswelelang.com. Main website: tswelelang.com.
What information we collect
When you apply to become a marketer we collect reasonably required information: name, surname, identity or passport number, date of birth, mobile and WhatsApp numbers, email, province, town, suburb, employment and marketing experience, intended marketing channels, motivation, optional referrer code, and technical data such as IP address, browser type, and campaign parameters (for example UTM codes from a flyer QR code).
Why we collect it
- to review and administer marketer applications;
- to contact you about your application;
- to prevent fraud, duplicates and abuse;
- to measure which campaigns generate applications;
- to keep records required for the programme.
How we may use it
We use the information only for the marketer programme and related administration. We do not sell applicant lists. Identity numbers are stored in protected form and are not placed in ordinary notification emails or in website URLs.
Who may access it
Authorised Tswelelang administrators, and service providers who host email or the website, may process information under our instructions. We do not publish applications on the public website.
How long we retain it
We keep application records for as long as needed to administer the programme, handle disputes and meet legal record-keeping duties, then delete or de-identify them where practicable.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access to your information, correction of inaccurate information, or to object to certain processing. Contact advisers@tswelelang.com for privacy enquiries.
Security
We use access controls, encrypted storage for identity numbers, HTTPS and administrative authentication. No method of transmission is completely secure.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses a session cookie required for forms and administration. Optional analytics (if enabled by Tswelelang) are loaded from a central configuration and can be updated without scattering tracking code through templates.
